Where in the world?

We love using the atlases to discover where different places are in the world . 🌏

This week we have been locating mountain ranges from all across the globe and have been finding which continents they can be found in.

XMAS FACTOR COMPETITION

A huge well done to all of the children who auditioned for the year four Xmas factor. Special congratulations go to all of the brave finalists who performed in front of the whole school, as well as the huge entertainment team who hosted the competition with confidence and enthusiasm. It was lovely to see the winner was from Skipper 4. 🏆👏🏼

And the winner is …. 💃🏆👏🏼

FLAP JACKS

We were all looking forward to making some tasty flap jacks to put into our Christmas boxes. A huge thank you to Pippa for your help with this cooking project.

Christmas Boxes

We have spent some time exploring different types of Christmas packaging . We have enjoyed designing and making our own Christmas boxes to include a tasty treat for someone special. 🎁

Circuits and switches

What did we do? Ask your children to tell you about this one!

Here are some words to help them explain what is going on…

metal

conductor

continuous circuit

electricity

flow

break

When we opened the swtich, can you explain what happened?

Dragon stories

Thank you to all the children (and families) who have worked so hard on creating amazing dragon stories for homework. So many children have been really keen to read these out to their friends at school. It’s great to see how proud the children are of their work, and what exciting stories they have created! Good job, Skipper 4!

Music

Skipper 4 have been learning about ‘timbre’. This is the different sorts of sounds we can make, by playing instruments in different ways or combining sounds in different ways. We have been making sounds that sound’ red’ to us, or ‘blue’ or ‘yellow’. We were all surprised by how much we agreed what a yellow of a black sound should sound like! It was bveen great fun. We’ve also composed pieces in groups and performed these to the class.
