Our dinotastic week πŸ¦–πŸ¦•

On Monday we arrived at school to another mess in our home corner. We think our classroom had been visited by a dinosaur! Some of the children were convinced in was a T-Rex because of the shape of the footprints. We reported the incident by recording everything we could see on an incident report.

In our maths this week we have been learning about number pairs. We’ve been investigating number pairs to a number between 5 and 10 by using the part part whole method.

We have some new additions to Skipper Foundation. We have been so excited this week to settle the tadpoles into our class. We’ve been checking on them at every opportunity. We’ve found that they are great to help with relaxation and feeling calm. They have also raised some brilliant questions about the life cycle of a frog and we can’t wait to watch them grow and transform. Once they’re big enough we’ll release them into our pond.

Damers Dancers

Today Skipper Foundation had the opportunity to perform the Cha Cha Cha, a dance they have learnt and practised for 5 weeks! They were amazing and blew everyone away with great team work, coordination, timing and smiles. I am so proud of their effort and enthusiasm for learning the dance and we’re already looking forward to learning another. Another great achievement Skipper F, well done.

If you weren’t lucky enough to see the children perform today perhaps you could click on the link below and ask them to show you at home. Or better yet, let them teach you and become their dance partner!

Manfred’s Mambo – The Cha Cha Cha

Step, step, Cha Cha Cha πŸ’ƒπŸ» πŸ•ΊπŸ½

I’m sure you’ve been hearing a lot about the Cha Cha Cha over the last couple of weeks. Well, the children have been dancing their socks off and speaking the steps as they move around the school. They can’t wait to show off their dance on Monday 10th February at 1.45pm in the main school hall. You won’t want to miss this one!

A class of aliens! πŸ‘½

Look at our latest sketching art work. Aren’t they brilliant! Our listening skills are improving so much and it’s having such a positive impact on following instructions and being able to draw so well. They’re on our classroom door so be sure to take a look at parents evening next week on Wednesday and Thursday.

Space πŸͺ 🌎 πŸ‘½ πŸš€

We’re loving our space topic! In our sketching session we had a go at drawing astronauts using simple shapes. We’ve also been learning about 3D shapes and have made some space walkie talkies from junk model materials based on the book The Way Back Home.

We’ve been using black sugar paper and chalks to create solar system pictures. We used our fingers to smudge the chalk to make the stars look fuzzy and bright.
