PE

Over the last two weeks we have been practising our safe landings when jumping from a height and balancing confidently. We have loved using the apparatus and learning how to control our bodies to move safely and confidently.

We are writers!

We have been using our phonics knowledge to chop up words into their individual sounds so that we can write them. That’s right, we’ve been writing! It’s amazing seeing the children writing there own words, some for the first time. Even our bananas we’re getting involved in our phonics today!

Funky Fingers Stay and Play

It was great to see so many of you yesterday for our stay and play session. The children loved showing you their fine motor skills activities and it was lovely to see them turn into the experts!

Thank you if you could make it and keep your eyes open for our next session next half term.

A visit from the fire fighters 🚒

We had a very exciting day today. We had a special visit from the local fire and rescue team who took us on a tour of the fire truck, let us use the water hose and taught us all about fire safety. We had an opportunity to dress up in some fire fighting clothes and ask lots of questions. We learnt what to do in the event of a fire at home, ask us to show you.

The beauty of me

We are enjoying finding out lots about the children through our circle times and the golden box. We have been looking closely at our faces this week and noticing what makes us unique and beautiful. We have been painting self portraits and drawing ourselves on cut out figures. We really loved hearing the book, All About Faces. It talked about how our faces tell the world how we are feeling.

It’s been wonderful to see some of the home learning that’s coming in related to our Marvellous Me topic. Keep it coming! See the suggestions below for some ideas.

Funky Fingers 🖐 🤚

This week’s new funky fingers activities include stretching bands over tins, placing buttons on dinosaurs, giving cardboard tube hair cuts and screwing nuts onto bolts.

Don’t forget it’s our Stay and Play on Wednesday 9th October where you can stay at drop off time and join in with some of these activities with your child.
